Weird to name my daughter my name????

Its Carlie Nicole. Just out of curiosity (not even pregnant yet) cause I cant find a name for a girl that I absolutely love....however I could find a million boy names I love for my son. Help!!

I think its strange personally. My grandmother named my aunt her name. I always thought it was weird and asked why as a child.

I think it's weird that people think it's odd for a female to name her daughter her name but are ok with males participating in the practice. Personally, that is something the women in my family do. My grandmother named my mom after herself. And my aunt named her daughter after herself, who in turned later names her daughter after herself as well. It's probably just some ingrained way of thinking about females but i say there's nothing wrong or odd about it.

I have a friend who is the 4th Shelley in her lineage and just named her daughter Shelley as well. The grandma goes by Shelley and the daughter has a nickname and the granddaughter goes by her middle name. I didn't know the first two in the line but it's a cute tradition they've got going on.
