Landlord didn’t pay mortgage bank evicting giving 30 days
Venting/serious legal question
So my mom’s landlord apparently hasn’t been paying the mortgage on the house ($35,000+!) he’s renting to my mom. She got an eviction notice from the bank the other day and they said she had till the first of next month to leave because they’re auctioning the house. Oh and apparently the landlord plans to try to buy the house back at auction! He’s always been kinda sleezy but I never expected this I feel awful for my mom. Can she file a civil suit against him? She was never notified of pre foreclosure or anything. She doesn’t want people knowing she rents cause “I’m old” so I doubt she would but could she? She’s in crippling debt, she has terrible credit and my dad’s credit score isn’t good either and he’s retired. My siblings still live at home and my brother is SPED so she pays for him to be in a program too.
Anyway my lease is up soon and my husband and I agreed to TRY to rent a house with them I just hope all of our scores combined are enough because I’m a SAHM and mine’s shit and my husband’s is just “fair” now because we just got a used car cause his took a crap so he has a hard inquiry that apparently temporarily brought his score down.
Ugh! I feel so anxious and worried all the time now I’m worried my mom will be homeless and all sorts of other stuff.
