Okay so, my husband and I just had our son in May. Its been a long three year road with two miscarriages to get to where we are and WE couldnt be happier.

(back story, my MIL and I have never been too close, and my FIL absolutely hates my guts for honestly no reason, ive even tried talking to him about it and he wont tell me why)

Now, heres examples of whats been going on:

1.) while i was pregnant, i tried keeping MIL in the loop to be nice, i even scheduled a 4D ultrasound that she could come to so she could see our son. The entire ultrasound she just kept telling my husband “he looks just like you!” and my husband told her when we got home, that from the blobby ultrasound picture he has my nose and pouty lips. My MIL went as far as to get my husbands baby picture, grab my ultrasound picture and shove it in my face and say “nope! He looks like his daddy!”

2.) when she finally got to see our son two weeks after he was born, she took pictures of him, pictures of my husband and our son, and pictures of her, my husband and our son. But NONE of me or with me included. (Our wedding was the same, i dont have a single picture with any of his family on our wedding day, so weird.)

3.) she said “oh honey, i knew you really wanted a girl, but dont worry you can call him Danielle.” (Our sons name is Daniel.) this I told her that she was wrong, i only wanted a healthy baby, and that if anything i was more familiar with baby boys as I have two nephews.

4.) she keeps commenting on all our pictures “cute just like daddy!” “He should be in movies cutest lil guy ever along with his dad😁❤️❤️” etc etc and she refers to my husband and son as “those boys of ours”

Im absolutely never rude to her, to the point where i send her pictures personally as a little hello etc. ive never confronted her about any of this because im not sure if im being crazy or if my feelings are valid?

My husband thinks she doesnt mean to come off in such a way, and that shes just super excited about her grandson. I personally think she thinks of me as just an incubator and always has an undertone of maliciousness to her remarks.
