Anyone with a cerclage around cervix?

I had a cerclage placed at 15 weeks pregnant & everything so far has been really smooth, well it hasn’t been all cakes and pies but you know I been fine and so has baby. My stitch will be removed next Friday 36 weeks.. I want to know if anyone went into labor right after or did it take time? & how was it when they removed were you in pain or anything?

My cousin had hers removed at 36 weeks and baby didn’t budge. Her OB decided to do a csection at 39 weeks.

I was just reading a study on this which concluded that only 11% of women went into labor within 48 hours of the cerclage being removed. Of those 11% most of those women had cervical shortening and funneling in their current pregnancy and not only a history of preterm labor. The study went on to say that the mean length of time for the onset of labor was 14 days after cerclage removal. Take that info however you want, but it sounds like it just depends on your situation. Prob something to discuss with your MFM who can take your whole history into account. I’m having mine removed in 2 weeks and I’m terrified because I’ve heard only takes a few minutes but hurts like a bitch 😣  good luck!!!
