Which do you like better, family in home daycare or a daycare center?

Daycare center. I know that everyone who comes in contact with my kid has passed a criminal background check and all the teachers have studied early childhood education. It's a more secure environment. No worries about the teacher getting sick and closing for the day. With a home daycare, the owner's kids, spouse, friends, etc might come in contact with my child and I did not meet them nor approve of them.

I’ve worked in many daycare centers. As much as I dislike them I’d pick them over a home daycare because they’re forced to follow certain rules and regulations while a lot of home ones aren’t.

I love in-home daycares. I choose licensed ones with a preschool curriculum. They also participate in programs like yoga, music, and library visits. During the initial interview both of my daycares had us meet their families too so we met anyone who would maybe be involved in caring for our babies.
My absolute favorite part is the mixed ages. My first learned so much watching the big kids and wanting to do what they do, like crawling and climbing. He also loved to participate in the preschool stuff before he was even 1 year old. And I’m excited my kids will be together all day when my second starts in 2 weeks, I feel better knowing the baby will have one familiar face that first day.
It kinda sucks when they go on vacation and I need back-up care but personally that’s worth the benefits for us. I don’t think I would consider a center anymore after we’ve had such a great time with our in-homes.

In-Home because it’s cheaper. But my babysitter has to follow rules and regulations too. She is licensed by the state and is inspected regularly. I also like that’s it’s a smaller environment; she only cares for 5 kids at a time. It’s also more personal. At my daughter’s 1st birthday she threw her a little party and made her a home-made gift. She also give the kids little gifts for Christmas, Halloween, and we frequently get pictures that she has taken throughout the day.

Centers are usually curriculum based where as most home daycare is play based.  If im going to pay someone to watch my kid for me, i may as well pay for an education, right? 
Centers require vaccinations. 
Centers are usually videotaped. If i have concerns. I ask to see footage. 
The teachers are educated. 
My sister's worked in centers. They said when new preschool age kids come in from having stayed home with mom or at an in home, the kids are drastically behind the others. Some preschool kids not being able to count objects or know shapes/colors.

I prefer family to watch her, which I’m lucky to have worked out for 2 of the days I need care. After family, I prefer a daycare center, better regulation. Unfortunately for me right now I wasn’t able to get into any daycare, the waitlists are so long, so 2 days a week she has to go to a babysitter. I’m still on the waitlists so when a spot opens up she will be going to a center.

We have a part-tim nanny. During the week. And will usually ask his mom on the weekends we have date night.

Everyone there has to have a background check, as well as being CPR/first aid certified and is well monitored.

I’d prefer a family member if it was a possibility but it wasn’t for us. We chose not to use a home daycare because all the ones we talked to wanted to be able to take the kids to the park and library and other places on a weekly basis and I didn’t like the idea of someone driving her around and me not knowing exactly where she is during the day. I also feel like centers are more regulated than home daycares
