Does it really induce labor? Any harmful side effects? Old wives tale?

Red raspberry leaf tea does not induce or cause contractions. It is however great for uterine health. It strengthens the uterus so that contractions are effective during actual labor. It also helps regulate hormones. You’ll get the best benefits from long term use. I’ve been drinking it since trying to conceive- so for about 7 years. I drank it all throughout my last pregnancy and all throughout this one as well (37 weeks). Drinking a few cups at the end of pregnancy isn’t going to bring on labor- it’s a common misconception. My first birth was 14 hrs, uncomplicated & unmedicated, I pushed for maybe 20min/6 pushes. My contractions were very effective.

It's said that it can strengthen your uterus to make contractions stronger and more effective, it doesn't induce labor. I've heard mixed things about it actually helping to have a shorter delivery but nothing negative. I've been taking the capsules for a little over 3 weeks, I'm 38+4 now.

It doesn’t “induce labor” it’s supposed to strengthen your uterus in prep for labor so your contractions are more productive. It also reduces nausea, it’s a good source of antioxidants and nutrients, and it ￼can help with diarrhea.
It also kinda tastes like black tea so you can almost make a London fog with it lol
