Nursing.
My daughter just turned 2 weeks old, she was born at 37 weeks and is small. I have been meeting with a lactation consultant but the hospital my insurance is through just cut the whole outpatient lactation office unannounced so ive got nowhere to go with my questions and i was meant to have an appointment with her today:(
The first week i was pumping about 3.5-4 oz once my milk came in, and now im barely getting 2.5-3 when i pump every 2-3 hours.
Her mouth is small, i have to use a nipple shield because she cant latch and when she tries she chokes on my nipple😕 her pediatrician and the consultant both said her mouth is very tiny and i may have to pump and nurse with the shield until she is a month or so old.... my question is, has anyone had this happen? Is my milk supply declining? What do i do?😫
I drink around 100+ oz of water a day.
I have oatmeal and eggs for breakfast every morning.
I have not changed my routine, i try to base my meals off of the breastfeeding page i got....
I feel like a total failure.
