Pediatrician?

Do you have to have a pediatrician picked before baby is born?

Not with my daughter. There were 4 options for me to choose from due to the OB that delivered her and I saw being affiliated with a clinic chain that does it all. So I got to pick one. I tried one.lady ABSOLUTELY HATED her. Asked the receptionist to tell me which ahe felt was their best and she pointed out.my current pediatrician. Hes AMAZING my daughter is terrified/shy of.all men but her dad and mine and yet she will reach for her doctor and give him a hug and a smile immediately. He's great. He's agreed to see my son once he is boen as well.

I guess it depends on where you live and the hospital. Where I delivered they asked but it wasn’t required because the hospital has a new born clinic for the baby to get seen at till their 2 month appointment with their pediatrician.

It’s recommended but you don’t have to. Just recommended because the first appointment is a couple days after birth

You should, yes, so they can come check on baby in the hospital after delivery and schedule baby's routine in office visits that take place throughout the first few weeks after birth.

U should yes the baby needs to be seen two days after the baby is born sometimes depending what insurance u have could be hard to find a doctor or doctor just arent taken any one new

We only have one pediatrician at our hospital, so it wasn’t too tough to decide. We didn’t meet her until his two week appt though since I delivered at a different hospital and was there for a week. She’s amazing and we really liked her :)

We were told it’s a requirement. My babe has been seeing the same doctor ever since!

It’s recommended because you’ll be seeing them right away that first week.  You’ll definitely want someone you’re comfortable with in charge of the care of your newborn.  This baby will see the family practice that I and my other kids see because we’ve been going to him for 12 years and love him!

Yes we had an appointment with our pediatrician while I was pregnant to meet him and we had to be able to tell the hospital when the baby was born who the dr was going to be because that practice would be the one to monitor them during the hospital stay.

I did. You have to visit the pediatrician just a few days after birth so I wanted to make sure I picked one and knew they accepted our insurance and everything
