Any successful sweeps?

38+5 weeks and my doctor did a membrane sweep and seems so confident we’ll be having baby this weekend. She said I’m super soft, 50% thinned, -2 station, and 1cm dilated. She’s so confident but I don’t want to get my hopes up! Anyone go into labor after their sweep?

I had one with my first just past 41 weeks and contractions started about 12 hrs later. I personally wouldn’t get one done before my due date- they tend to work better when your body is ready.

I had my only membrane sweep at 40+3, and baby was in my arms 24 hours later.

They’re less likely to work before 39 weeks as your body isn’t technically ready. I’m getting one next week at 40 weeks and will have a second 2 days later if it doesn’t work!

I had one last Friday (Aug 2nd) - was 3cm dilated and 70% effaced. Same thing, doctor for sure thought we’d have a baby over the weekend. I got my hopes up and here I am Aug 9 and still no baby. Had an appt today and she checked but no changes, she did another sweep so we will see 🤷🏼‍♀️
For your sake, I hope it works but don’t get your hopes up - I did and it made for a longggg, frustrating week!

I’m 38 weeks and had one yesterday and it didn’t work for me 😩🤦🏽‍♀️ I didn’t even dilate more...I’m 3cm 50% effaced -2 station
