Significant other goes to a party without telling you.. are you mad?

My boyfriend and I have a child together but currently living in different houses because our old house that we were renting sold. I just found out he went to a party last night and he hasn’t said anything about it. When I brought it up he swore he meant to tell me but when he went o was already asleep. I’m pissed. Am I over reacting?

I don’t know why a partner wouldn’t tell you they’ve gone out to a party or elsewhere even if you’re asleep they can drop a message like “hey hun, just going to be out at party or grocery shop” so that in the unlikely case they got hurt or didn’t make their way back you’d at least know? This is super controversial because people will claim it’s controlling/lack of trust to want too know where your partner is or what they’re doing but I think it’s a form of respect to just let someone know.

It wouldn't bother me unless he lied about it or tried to hide it. I don't baleave 2 people dating should have to inform there partner of their every move especially if you don't live together as than you may worry if they didn't come home and never said they would be gone. When I was dating my husband I did not text him every time I went to the store, mall, movies, or friends place. If he asked what are you up to sure I would say but  I didn't just tell him right away before I went somewhere.

Well, if I can have a kid with a man I don't live with, then I can also accept not knowing where he is every day and every night.

I would certainly be annoyed but you’re not married. Youre not his wife so he shouldn’t have to tell you. Out of respect he should have told you. When we were dating my boyfriend sometimes didn’t tell me if he was going somewhere but that changed as we discussed it more and I explained I love him and if we want to build a life together we should BOTH be honest. Also depends on what type of party- like a few friends hanging out? Eh a house party with heavy drinking? Yea I need to know in case you can’t drive. That kind of thing. He should respect you as his girlfriend and mother of his child. So I get being annoyed. It’s just one of those things where he’s not married to you so he doesn’t absolutely have to tell you- more of a respect thing!

Depends on the rules of your relationship. My husband and I are long distance so when he goes out, we have agreed that he tells me. Whether if I’m asleep or not, he should shoot me a text or something.
