I personally wouldn't be comfortable leaving an 8 month old for days at a time. But that's just me. I totally get not wanting to take an 8 month old though. It isn't all that especially fun or relaxing to go anywhere and do much of anything with a baby.
If it were me I would postpone the honeymoon till baby was a bit older and I either felt comfortable leaving baby with family or felt like I could take baby and still enjoy the honeymoon.
You do whatever works for you and your family!

I would delay the honeymoon, and maybe just go away for 1-2 nights, and that way baby can stay with the in-laws.
My fiancé and I are delaying our wedding until we have finished having children. And we plan to have a 1-2 night break at a nice lodge in the forest with a hot tub etc. and then later on, go for a larger family holiday somewhere warm with the kids.
