Do you still pump? The LONG night stretch!

Mamas who are breastfeeding, but babe is sleeping good at night (6-8 hours). Are you waking up engorged?? Do you pump in the early AM if they arnt up yet? What’s your routine?

If you don’t pump in the middle of night while the baby is doing long stretches, your body won’t produce as much milk during that long stretch after a couple days and that is okay! That is your supply regulating and your body realizing that you don’t need that much milk then so you can sleep when your baby is! Eventually all babies start sleeping through the night and you don’t want to be fragmenting your own sleep to pump when the baby clearly doesn’t need to nurse at that time! As long as you’re nursing consistently during the day, you’ll have enough for the baby—that’s how the supply and demand works! And if your baby starts waking up again in the middle of the night and is consistently hungry, your supply will go back up if you start nursing them again then! I understand pumping right before bed but waking up to pump when the baby is sleeping sounds like madness to me haha

I wake my baby up at 2am to feed. He goes to sleep around 9 and wakes at 6-7. I asked the lactation consultant and she said not to go all night without feeding. 🤷‍♀️

My baby sleeps all night so I feed him really good in the morning then pump! I end up getting like 9 oz after he feeds!

My LO sleeps long stretches and if he doesn’t feed right before I go to bed I will pump. I do wake up engorged and will try to feed him. If he nurses I attach my haaka to the opposite side so I get relief and catch any leaking. I will then pump and. Real back in the bed.

Following, I’m wondering the same thing. I always pump right before I go to bed, but my daughter has been sleeping an 8 hour stretch the last 3 nights. I don’t wake up until she does, so I’m pretty engorged and will usually pump one side before I start to feed her. I’m loving the longer stretches at night, but I’m scared it will hurt my supply 🤷🏼‍♀️

It depends on baby. If she goes down at 8 and is still sleeping at 10 then I pump before I go to bed on 1 side and then both in the morning as she will usually wake up once or twice during the night (we usually wake up at 7 on days I don’t work)
Lately she’s been eating still every 2-3 hours (I feel the next leap coming...) so I haven’t needed to pump before bed
