Sex at parents’ house

I will preface this by saying we are in our 30s and live on the other side of the country.

Whenever we stay with his or my parents my SO gets crazy horny! It’s weird because at home he almost never initiates sex but when we’re visiting family he’s suddenly super into it! One of my other friends said her SO was the same and I was wondering if this is a normal thing.
