Chorionic Villus Sampling
Has anyone here ever had CVS done? How many weeks did they do it at? Did they do it vaginally or abdonimally? How painful was it? What kind of results were you able to determine with it? Has anyone ever had a miscarriage after having one performed? My google searches say 1 out of every 100 women have a miscarriage within 3 days after getting CVS done.. that seems like a relatively high amount to me... would the stress for the week after the test, just waiting to miscarry or not be worth it? Knowing major chromosomal abnormalities early on in pregnancy is important to me, but I want to make sure I have all the information and hear any first hand experiences so that I can make a well informed decision. Is it best to do genetic screening first and only get CVS if those show up as abnormal? Or just skip the guess work of false positives or negatives and just go straight to a one and done all inclusive truly diagnostic test?
