I need advice about a cat!!

We just bought our house, and the homeowner told us to watch out for her cat because it got out while they were moving. Well, we opened the laundry room door today and there was the cat. My husband went out to get the kennel ready and when he went back she was gone. What can we do to get this cat back out, and almost capture her so the homeowner can have her back?
