Has this happened to anyone?

I’m 3weeks 6days post baby boy’s birthday and all of yesterday’s I was simply uncomfortable and my assumption was that my cesarean incision is swollen or something...

In the evening I decided to go and force out urine in hopes the release will help... to my surprise I see what looks like wires sticking out from down under... naturally I freak out and wonder what it is, did my internal incision loose all the stitching, blah blah blah...

Bare in my my husband is a doctor so I’m tempted to call him in to come and examine the situation... but I then I started feeling the need to relax my pelvic muscle... the wires started gradually slipping out so I gently tugged on them and bang this popped out...

I knew the iud could get expelled but I just didn’t think it would happen to me, they told me in rare occasions, I never fall under that group (nothing rare ever includes me)...

IUD falling out was the last thing on my mind...

has this happened to anyone else?

PS. Hubby thinks I’m dramatic because I thought of everything crazy first and then it was something he claims is normal or predictable...

Never had it happen but seems odd they already put an IUD in 3 weeks post birth. I was told with my second it had to be 8-12 weeks to place one because it could come out because your body isn't healed and cervix isn't ready to have one inserted and held in place. I was pretty much told the same this time by a different doctor. He said 8 weeks for it. I could have the pill both times before that but two doctors wouldn't use an IUD till 8 weeks plus.Good luck!

It was put in immediately after delivery

You can have an iud put in 48 hours after birth but they recommend waiting until 6 weeks. High expulsion rates before 6weeks postpartum.

Yeah thats weird that they would put bc right in after birth. I have to wait till my 6week pp checkup to get my bc & im starting the pill. I'd definitely contact the dr about that.
