I’m due to have my baby in January and I work for a very small privately owned company, and by small I mean there’s only 10 of us total working here, and I’m the first female employee to ever get pregnant during the operation of the business. I don’t know how all this works. I am not expecting to be paid at all via my job. My question is would I qualify for short term disability for delivery/post partum? If so what exactly do I do? Is it something I do through my insurance or do I go thru the state? I live in PA and I’m new to all of this. I’m planning to move into a bigger apt now that baby is coming and I really want to have my finances straight but it’ll be hard with only 1 income. I don’t want to put the whole burden of house hold bills on my husband. Any advice is super appreciated!
