Is this common? Should I take a pregnancy test?

I’m currently 6 days late on my period but I’m having familiar signs like slight cramping and sore breast, that usually indicate my period is coming . And yes, I did have unprotected sex so obviously I should be concerned,which I am, I guess I’m just freaking out because I know I should take a pregnancy test I just don’t want to because I really feel like my period is coming.
