How understanding is your boss about your pregnancy?
So yesterday I was at a staff meeting and my boss started talking about people calling in sick and rules around that. She jokingly said "if you're puking, don't come to work, unless you're pregnant, then take yourself to the bathroom and deal with it. You might wanna bring some mouthwash." Everybody was laughing.
Now... I found out about a week ago that I'm pregnant. This is my first pregnancy. I haven't felt sick yet just tired and backaches.
I work in a small school with limited staffs. I understand my boss' perspective and she mentioned she had a pregnant employee before and it was hard because she'd call in here and there with morning sickness. I haven't told anybody at work about my pregnancy but I'm sensing it's more nuisance than anything for my boss. I'm really worried that if I start feeling sick I won't have support. And did I mention I work on a floor with no adult bathrooms??!!!!? I can't get to the bathroom whenever I need and it makes me nervous for the future too.
