The other day people at my work were talking about how if you want to get your kid into a head start program you really need to get them on the waitlist at 1 year old. Then another friend on Facebook who has a five month old (same age as my daughter) was looking for private preschools so they could get on a wait list.

So my questions.

Are head start and preschool the same?? Or is head start before preschool? And how important is head start? Do I really need to be thinking about this now?
