Second baby down đź’–
The other day my doctor said I could labor Thursday with induction so I was excited! Wednesday night my mother and husband treated me and our toddler to some red lobster 🦞 got me feeling fancy lol. Couldn’t sleep much from the nerves so me and my husband left our 2 year old with my mom early in the morning and parked outside the hospital with some McDonald’s and just talked for a bit before heading into the hospital around 7:30am, let me tell you my second labor has been pretty easy so far , my first was easy too but a bit longer. They put me in a bed and did the blood draw and IV at the same time because they knew I had a fear of needles. My nurse Liz was sooo nice and understanding. I almost fainted during the blood draw because it was leaking everywhere so she had my husband standing next to me with a cup of water and a straw as the blood draw/Iv was happening. Then later a physician came in and broke my water, she was poking around for a while and the water wasn’t breaking, so she had to come back during a contraction to break it which was so uncomfortable but I wouldn’t say painful. Then I basically went from 4cm to 6 within a half an hour so the nurses started to worry about me getting the epidural. Luckily we caught the physician before he went to the OR and he gave me the epidural, funny enough this time my husband almost fainted, so as I’m getting the needle the nurse and doctor are trying to make sure he’s not gonna faint, but it worked out in a way because me worrying about my husband made me not notice the needle in my back as much . After the epidural was in the contractions kept flowing so bad and painful even with the epidural. So they gave me a stronger dosage, but I still felt my left side contractions and it was BAD (Bless woman who can do it all natural) so they had another doctor come and give me even more epidural medication. Finally I couldn’t feel the contractions anymore but I felt the catheter pretty well and had a bit more movement and feeling in my legs than I did when I labored my son. Me and my husband watched some marvel movie the hospital had, we love marvel so it was really nice. And then the next thing I knew I felt crazy pressure and basically by the time the nurse came to check me she was like “oh you’re having a baby now” so my doctor who’s been taking care of me my entire pregnancy and then my super nice nurse liz started helping me get ready and it was basically 3 to 5 minutes of pushing and she was out! At 1:36 pm; considering my son took an hour and a half of pushing I was pretty happy she same out so quick. I didn’t even care this time about anything I let my husband watch everything, with our son I kept yelling at him not to look lol. But just like that I had my daughter ! No stitches or anything needed and within a few hours I had all the wires out and was walking around the room. We invited our family after labor and an hour of bonding time with our daughter because last time with our son I was stressed for the guests the whole time and just wanted peace this time. And now it’s day number 2 in the hospital! My son and daughter seem to be doing well together so far, And my husband is getting some rest so I’m really happy. And that’s my second birth story.
