How can I trust my birth control? How can I stop worrying:( I don’t get periods bc I take it continuously. But I am very strict about taking it... the chances are logically so low but I can’t stop agonizing over the minute possibility

Maybe talk to a therapist about why you keep worrying?

Use a condom with your birth control. Then you have added security.

Why do you take it continuously? I mean every so often, especially if I have events coming up, I will skip getting my period for 2-3 months because I don’t wanna have to worry about it then, but as much as I hate getting my period I also like that it’s regular and predictable and I don’t have to worry, in the back of my mind, about the very small chance I messed something up and the small possibility I’m pregnant or something.

Oh ok I understand, I know how painful that can be. Both my sisters were diagnosed with endometriosis. I’m sorry you have to deal with that.

I take it continuously for really bad painful periods. Suspected to have endometriosis but it can only be formally diagnosed through surgery

But also I was on birth control for over 12 years and never got pregnant on it once, I trust my birth control completely

I’m the same way. My on/gyn gave me some anxiety meds for when I start worrying too much. I use condoms with my bc and he pulls out but I still can’t help think something has went wrong

Went to my doctor and she told me it’s super unlikely with how careful I am but “miracles happen” so she would test my blood for HCG. For my lab non pregnant is <5 , I got my result <1. So I’m definitely not pregnant. Taking a break from sexual activities that can risk pregnancy. Going back on my SSRIs for generalized anxiety. I don’t have insurance coverage or money for therapy right now but the medication should help in a few weeks. Also, I will be getting an IUD put in on September 18th. The mirena is 99.9% effective, which is more effective than tubal ligation. That way I won’t have to worry “did the pill get absorbed, is this 1 hour gonna make a difference (it doesn’t on the combo pill you have 12 hour window)...” all you have to do is check the strings once a month. And as a bonus it helps with heavy periods and endometriosis:)
