So I've woken up at 2am with a cramp just below my ribs. The pain carried on in waves and my whole bump goes hard like Braxton hicks but the pain is too much to sleep through. I timed it and I was having a big painful contraction very 6ish minutes with 2 small ones in between. I've had this for an hour and a half now.

3 weeks ago I was being monitored for constant Braxton hicks but they didnt trigger labor and I was sent home. The tightening is the same but the pain is more.

It's 3.30am now and I've come downstairs and had some toast because I was hungry and the pain seems to have lessened a bit.

I used to suffer a lot with gas pains/trapped wind and it used to come in waves like contractions until it was unbearable. The pain feels like that mixed with period pain. Do you think this could just be gas? I will phone labor ward if it gets worse.
