In home daycare vs mother in law watching kids advice

Hi all. I’m having a dilemma. My 2.5 year old is currently at an in home daycare. Mother in law offered to quit her job and watch her and my newborn full time. We would still have to pay her what we would pay for two kids at the daycare bc she needs some form of income. Our plan is to put the kids in pre-k in two years. So she would watch them for two years if we went with mother in law. There are several pros and cons to the situation. For example, if MIL watched them I would not have to get two children ready at once at 6am and drive them 30 mins to daycare. I wouldn’t have to pack lunches and if one kid is sick I wouldn’t have to take off work. I could also work late if I needed to, whereas at daycare you have to pick them up by 5. The daycare our kids are at has 6 kids (my 2.5 year old being the oldest,) so my main concern is my oldest falling behind socially or even academically if she is home with just her sibling and grandma. On the other hand, she gets WAY more attention. It’s just a tough call and I’m not sure what to do about it. Any advice is welcome! Helppppp!
