Prepared for adult life?

I was flipping through the stations while waiting in the drop off line at my son's school and a conversation on the Bobby bones show got my attention.

They were talking about how they feel maybe 10% of all 18 year olds are actually out on their own, and not depending on their parents at all. Most of the radio members said they were around mid 20's when they stopped depending on parents.

This made me wonder how many of us are actually taught "how to adult" before becoming actual adults.

I know many who weren't taught that your rent should at most only be 1/3 of your monthly income, that you should put 10% of every pay check aside for emergencies, how to budget etc.

So my question is; Were you actually prepared for adult life by the time you were 18?
