Baby mucus

My son is a month old today. He woke up around 3 am being fussy and now it’s 9 o’clock and you can just hear the mucus in his poor throat and nose. When he cries, some of it comes out of his mouth and it’s clear. Should I call my doctor or is there anything I can try from home to help him first? I usually don’t like to take chances and would call my doctor to ask, but I don’t want to take him around sick kids if I don’t have to. 😩

Also, I did try one of those nose bulb things and I did his nose and I tried one time in his mouth and the mucus just stringed out and it seemed to bother him more then it did help. 😢
