Struggling to eat, not gaining weight. 20 weeks.

Caitlyn

I’m struggling. I wasn’t the pregnant woman throwing up constantly throughout my first trimester but I had intense food revulsion, nausea, and lack of appetite - the last of which has followed me into Trimester two. I struggle to feel hungry, to find anything appealing. I struggle to eat a full plate of food when I sit down to do so, even if it’s something I really enjoy.

I lost weight in my first trimester and although I’ve gained back what I lost, I’ll be 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow and only 1 lb heavier than I was when I conceived this child. At my last check-up (at 16+ weeks) my OB said she wasn’t concerned yet but if I continued to loose or not gain any weight, she would be concerned, and we’d need to really talk about it. I go back in one week.

I’m asking for recommendations on healthy calorie-dense foods.

I’m frustrated with people dismissively telling me to “just eat McDonalds every day” and especially frustrated with the “this is your free pass to eat whatever you want” or “eat for two!” Crowd.

Even if I wanted to, I physically can’t.
