Please read if jealous of another lady's early scan

Ladies!!! I have seen some posts of scans being shared, on any scan under 8 weeks you can almost guarantee there is a comment that moans about "my scan isn't until 8 weeks or 10 weeks" "how did you get an early scan"

I'll tell you how.

These women with early scans before 8-10 weeks it is because they started spotting or bleeding, because they are high risk, because they have intense pain or were suspected for an ectopic or chemical pregnancy. Please stop getting jealous, if you had need for a scan this early you would wish you didn't. As lovely as it is seeing baby so soon some of the women have seen that their pregnancy is in fact an ectopic or they may go for their 8 week scan and see no sac because they miscarried. Those fortunate enough for an early scan are only there because there is another issue. I have a bicornuate uterus so my uterus is a strange shape, this means I will likely miscarry and have issues later in pregnancy so I had a scan at 5 weeks and I saw nothing.

That said. If you are bleeding or spotting or in pain that feels too much please go to your early pregnancy unit or midwife or gyno or accident and emergency and please please get checked over. The wasted time is better than the awful consequences of growing an ectopic pregnancy unnoticed.
