My birth story.

Kara

On Monday August 19th 2019 I was 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my little boy. I was admitted into the hospital at 10 p.m. to be induced Monday night. When I got to the hospital and got admitted before the nurse could induce me she checked my cervix and I was already two centimeters dilated. She went ahead and started the induction. Around 12 or 1 when the nurse came in and decided that it was time for me to try and push. We tried for what seemed like forever get my son into the world he had turned sideways and would not come out. By the time 230 arrived I was pushing trying to get my son to come into the world. Little did I know I was going through some complications. I wasn't breathing hard enough when I was pushing to give my son enough oxygen. Throughout the course of my fishing my son's heart rate dropped dramatically several times it even flatlined a couple. I did not know any of this until after the fact of him being born. My boyfriend and the nurses kept exchanging really worried nervous looks and I could tell that something was wrong even though I didn't know what that something was. Finally the doctor had to perform an episiotomy to be able to get my son's head and shoulders out. My son was born at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday August 20th 2019. His first breath took mine away and I fell in love all over again. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't lost him. My son weighed 7 lb 15 oz and what's 20 in long. I feel extremely lucky to be able to say that my son and I made it through The complications and he is perfectly healthy.
