Letrozole

Is anyone on here taking Letrozole? How many dominant follicles do you typically get per cycle? I’m on my second month and both times I’ve only had one dominant follicle during my pre-ovulation ultrasound on CD11. We’d love twins if it happens, so I’m always hoping for more than one dominant follicle, but it hasn’t happened yet. This month I had 3 big ones, but only one “dominant” one. Is that normal? Will I ever get more than one? Would it help to increase my dosage? I was prescribed only 2.5mg per day for 5 days.

Edit: I’m not taking it specifically for twins, obviously, but if twins happened then we’d love to keep them both and not “get rid of the extra one/ones” as my doctor put it, so to us there’s no risk in having more than one egg released. I ovulate on my own, but have unexplained infertility so even my doctor said if I release more than one egg then it will increase my chances of getting pregnant because my parters sperm will have more chances to find one. So far I’ve only had one dominant follicle each time, however, so even my doctor said it’s not exactly increasing my chances, other than making my eggs stronger/healthier. I read somewhere that a higher dose can increase your chances of releasing more than one egg, so I’m just curious if anyone else has heard that.

I just want a baby and I’m tired of waiting. We’ve been ttc for over 3 years, but we can’t afford IVF and every month of Letrozole + ultrasounds costs over $1000 at my clinic so that’s quickly adding up as well (plus over $4,000 in other tests we’ve done before starting Letrozole). Please try not to make snide or judgmental comments on this app until you know the whole story, and even then, this should be a place that women can go to get advice and support, especially in the ttc rooms.
