Wedding dress

I was married about a year ago and my sister will be getting married in about 6 months. She is low on funds and asked if she can wear my dress. She would want to shorten the dress and add sleeves. Part of me wonders what I would do with the dress other than letting it sit in my closet, so I think I should let her use it. The other part of me still has a sentimental attachment and wants to keep it for myself and future kids. If she didn’t want to alter it, there would be no question that she could wear it. What would you do in my situation? Any advice?

Update: Thanks for the advice. I talked with my sister and she was very understanding. She recently found a beautiful dress in her price range. Win-win.
