Natural twin birth

Abby

So I had a pretty unconplicated di-di pregnancy but was totally planning a c-section and literally every drug they would give me...that's not what I got in the end!

So on the 8th of July I just had a regular morning, pottered around as much as you can 35+1 with twins but no pain or any indication anything was going to happen. At about 4pm, I lost my mucus plug and txt my midwife but she told me it often is nothing and not to get excited. Then at 5 my waters broke and oh boy did they break. It was like someone tipping out a bathtub from inside of me, the amount of fluid was literally insane. We made our way to the hospital but stopped for McDonalds drive thru first. I had 1 contraction by 6 so the delivery team was pretty casual assuming we were in for a c-section like I had asked. They sent a doctor in to check my dilation anyway and gave me some gas for that because yikes. She looks at me and goes "and how many contractions have you had?" And at this point I had had 2 but like 30 mins apart. She looked at me funny and goes "well...you are actually 10cm dilated, you can't have a section or an epidural". WHAT? My husband and I thought she must be joking but very quickly the room filled up with people so we knew she wasnt. I refused to push until about 7.30 because I was sassy on the gas and thought if i didnt progress maybe i would get the drugs i wanted! Eventually i played ball tho, and Sebastian (2070g) was born at 8.25 followed by his sister Spencer (2150g) at 8.36. They had a 20 day stay in SCBU not for any real medical concerns but just growing a bit and establishing feeding. They have been home for a month now and are doing super well!

It was all so fast and crazy going from waters breaking to two babies in under 4 hours.
