Miscarriage common at 11 weeks?

Hi ladies. I’m 11 weeks pregnant with my first baby. No previous pregnancies or miscarriages. At 10 weeks, I had an ultrasound and the baby was looking good with a heartbeat of 159 bpm. I have a month between now and my next appointment and I’m just a nervous wreck. My question is, are miscarriages common at  11 weeks with a confirmed heartbeat? I can’t stop worrying.

Once the placenta fully forms, the chances of miscarriage drops very substantially. It usually finishes forming right around 10-11 weeks.  Did they mention your placenta at the ultrasound appt?

I was told that after you can hear the heartbeat on a fetal Doppler the risk of miscarriage is less than 1%. Also, once you’ve seen and heard a heartbeat on a ultrasound the risk goes down to less than 3%. I hate the time between appointments before baby can be felt all the time. Makes me a nervous wreck but just know that IF something is going to happen it will happen no matter what. Just try to enjoy your pregnancy!

Very low. My obstetrician said after 9 weeks the chances are low. Try not to stress, I know it’s hard.

I'm also 11 weeks and have about a month until my next appointment. It's hard not knowing if the baby is ok since it's too early to feel anything. The tech at my appointment did show me the placenta which is good. Now it's just a waiting game. The good news is the risk of miscarriage is pretty slim now. Hope everything goes well for you and your little one!
