Good morning beautiful ladies!

I’m officially 40 weeks and 5 days today. This is my fourth pregnancy (2 live births, 1 miscarriage at 15 weeks) but the FIRST time I have experienced anything happening that could possibly hint my body FINALLY knowing what to do this time around. I have always been overdue with my cervix being completely closed showing NO signs of wanting to open up.

Anyway, last night I finally experienced something NEW! I’m guessing it’s this thing everyone calls bloody show. Sorry for the TMI...

When I wiped, it was BRIGHT red like a period. And then it eventually turned to a brown color after about 5 hours. I had a little more red this morning.

Yes, I went to Labor and Delivery to get checked out because this is a first for me and I wanted to “check” all my boxes.

No signs of labor. Cervix is still closed.

I was sooooo excited thinking that perhaps my body would activate into labor but nooooooooooooo...

I’m scheduled to be induced on Sunday at 41 weeks and 2 days. So baby girl should be here by Monday at the latest. Still... I would love to know what it feels like to go into labor on my own.

How long after bloody show did some of you go into labor? Did you end up getting induced anyway? How did labor go for you? I know every mom and every pregnancy is different, but I’m just curious.
