My husband, throughout our marriage of two years, has made small remarks ‘jokingly’ about rape or ‘letting it happen’ when it comes to sexual advances from people. He even had the audacity to say when our son ( who is now 4 months) had the sense of humor to run away when he was older and yell ‘rape’ would be hilarious. For him to have that sense of humor would be hilarious? He is an absolutely amazing father but these comments make me quite nervous. He’s never played these out in our sex life, if I’ve ever felt uncomfortable he stops. So I don’t know if I’m overreacting, but I don’t think rape should ever, ever be a joke. Too many women had suffered and it breaks my heart. I’m not sure what to do, I finally confronted him about it tonight and he won’t speak to me because I’m making a big deal about it. I just don’t feel right, and told him it has never been okay to joke about rape especially when he’s never experienced something like that. Am I crazy?
