Hand tattoo & medical field ??

I really would love to get my hand tatted I just love tattoos so much An I’ve wanted one for a while BUT also I wanna work in the medical field like nurses assistant how does that work out 😕 I don’t wanna want have to choose because obviously it would have to be work. I wanna know does anyone have neck , hand, or even facial tats but still work in medical or a job similar how do you cover them an etc?

It really would depend on where specifically you intend to work. The hospital I work in doesn’t care as long as they’re not offensive though I don’t know any staff that have hand neck or head tattoos. If you’re close to achieving your dream job I would hold off get the job and see what their views are.

I’m a cna and the nursing home I work at doesn’t care as long as they aren’t offensive. I have a pretty large rose on my wrist. Most places don’t mind as long as they aren’t full of cuss words or of course anything that could be offensive.

I worked in pharmacy and have a hot air balloon on my hand. Never was told to cover it up/hide it.

My crazy friend has her hands tatted. Shes a smart girl though so I think they just over look it usually. She got them after we met too so within the last 6 years. She has them between her fingers and down the side of her hand. I have sleeves and I usually just wear a jacket but being pregnant I'm hot all the time!! I've actually only been asked to put my jacket on once and I think my boss was grumpy that day lol

my boyfriend is a CNA and has tattoos, one on his finger. we’re in california so it’s less conservative than a lot of places especially where we are a LOT of people have tattoos, i’d say depends on where you’d want to be a CNA, like a hospital vs. a nursing home would probably be different because of the patients. maybe wait til after you get the job

I don’t think the medical field really cares unless they are visible and you can’t cover them. I highly doubt someone with face or neck tats would be hired as a nurse unfortunately. I’m not sure about hand or finger tattoos but those you won’t be able to cover with makeup because you will be washing your hands so much. If it’s something small it may be looked past, but personally I have never seen anyone in the medical field on shift with visible tattoos. I would hold off because I know certain work places can be strict on things like that and if they do allow it you could just get it done after being hired.
