For anyone on WIC, I found out that they do a free infant car seat event every other month. They never told me anything about it or advertised. I only knew because someone on here posted.

When I called I found out I missed it by a week! The next one isn't until after my baby is born.

WIC told me to call specific police departments because they keep them on hand to give away to low income families.

I got a brand new infant seat and a convertible one today.

The police officer said he has so much trouble giving them away because of lack of awareness. He had 15 seats that expired he had to recycle!

So call your local WIC and inquire. They should know what police stations have them. Otherwise just cold call some and see.

Car seats shouldn't be so expensive and you really shouldn't get a used one for safety sake.
