Taking or consuming extra calcium usually helps since extra is needed to develop baby’s organs and bones. A calcium deficiency often causes leg cramps and Charlie horses. Staying well hydrated is important as well.

I didn’t have any my first pregnancy, but I’ve been having them like crazy this time around! I never realized others had this issue too - glad you posted! Now I know I’m not alone.

22 weeks with mild cramps, 23 weeks with bad charlie horses.  They only occur when I try to stretch my legs at night, but it’s also uncomfortable not to stretch my legs!
