See how his top lip is actually folded right up? His bottom lip is the same I just don't have enough hands to pull my boob away to get the picture. 
And my whole areola is in his mouth - all the little bumps around the nipple (bar 2 because he's asleep an be starting to slip). Looking at your picture again I think your bub might just have nipple?

It's really hard to tell from a picture, I don't know how big your nipples are or what shape. 
As a guess, looks like it I'difficult be deeper than you've got there. I'd try to get that bottom lip a touch more pouted - baby should look like a fish! But if baby is swallowing well and there's no pain, then it's probably fine. 
Look at your nipple after the feed; any lines showing it's been squashed or pinched? 
Honestly I'm a STM and latch isn't perfect with this bub yet, I'm still getting a little pinched each time. But it improves as bub gets bigger and they learn as much as you do. There's heaps of videos online showing how to go about it and you may find a different hold works better for you - I had to use football hold with my daughter on my left side. You're doing a great job mum!

Make sure top & bottom lips are puckered out. She shouldn’t just have the nipple in her mouth, rather a bunch of Areola too. Once she’s done feeding look at your nipple, any compression? (Does your nipple look round or like a lipstick 💄? ) if lipstick that’s no good. Any pain?
