What can I eat before my glucose test?

Question

Mines in the morning at 10:30, I was told I could eat something light but don’t go overboard.

I wasn’t allowed to eat anything at all and only allowed a few small sips of water

Mine was at 8am I got told was not allowed anything to eat after 10pm the night before only sips of water

I’m quite surprised to read people eating before the test. I was not allowed to eat anything from 10pm the night before and my test was at 9am. Only very small dips of water.

My doctor told me high protein low carb before the test and not to eat or drink  anything but water at least two hours prior to the test
