I literally am planning my shower with my husband. We're letting family help, but nothing gets put in without our approval. Partially because we like things to be equal between our parents, and I dont want to take away from one set of parents if they want to help.

Yes I did. My mom “hosted” mine (paid while I planned everything) and my bff did hers the same way.

I planned mine as we were coming in from out of town and had a larger guest list, also I had a very specific vision and didn’t feel that it was anyone else’s responsibility to pay for specific things I wanted. When ppl offered help we gratefully accepted though!

I would take part in planning, but I’m not really allowed to. 😂 I was told to make a guest list for both, and that’s pretty much all I was allowed to do. I’m having two showers being thrown for me and have little say in any of it. Which is totally okay by me! It’s kind of nice to not have to worry about it.
But I have put forth a few things. For the one in my hometown in a couple of weeks, I told my stepmom what kind of food I want, and games I do/don’t want to play. And for my shower where I live, I told my mother in law which venues I liked since she’s hosting it elsewhere. She told me I couldn’t have anymore details though lol.
I also drew and designed my own invites + mailed them out for both showers. I’m an artist and always do my own cards for everything.
