Birth Story - 33wks 4 Days

**long post alert- Birth Story**

So I woke up at 6 am on the 3/09/19 and thought I’d wet the bed!! This proceeded in me crying my eyes out and using the bathroom a further 5/6 times in the space of 30 mins. Sat on my bed and wondered if this was my water breaking seeing as I had 0 control over it.

Called the hospital they advised to wait it out for an hour before calling back to see what happens just to be sure it was my waters..... que the longest hour of my life!! Over the hour the weak “period” cramps I experienced since the night before began to develop!! So we dropped our other little lady at school for her first day back and headed to the hospital!!

We arrive at 9:30am... by 10:30 I’ve had swabs, an ultrasound, bloods, fitted with a canula, given antibiotics to prevent infection, some steroid injections to support baby’s lungs and conversations were in place re what medications could slow down/ stop labour after establishing that my waters had indeed broken!!

Dr completed examination shared that my cervix was closed at this point ... The CDG however was showing my contractions building and then around 10:45 they really intensified and rather than move to the ward I was taken to a delivery suite - THERE WAS NO STOPPING HER!!! We arrive on the delivery suite and the pain is really starting to get to a point I was struggling with it. Given some gas and air (omg this stuff is not praised enough) for the Dr to complete a further examination ... to find I am now 7cm at 11:30am!

Fast forward to 12:43 the pressure i felt was unreal I felt I needed to push.... 12:48pm my little bundle arrived 6/7 pushes tops at 33wks+4days!! To be whisked off the the HDU section of NICU for support!!

How’s your Monday been- mine took an unsuspecting twist 🙄😂😱

Little lady is doing well - Name pending but weighed in at 4lb 8oz!!
