Preference?

Question

My 1 week old girl won’t eat from my right breast. 
It’s a relatively new thing, but she refuses to latch properly. Every time I try to put her on the right, she just shakes her head around and tries to push off. 
Is it normal to have a preference or is there a problem?

Mine preferred the right for the longest time, and she did all this too. I just kept offering both each feeding and she gave in lol, but still preferred the right. Up until recently, now she prefers left 🤷‍♀️ still takes both though. She is 9 months now. Make sure you pump from the "rejected" side though.

They can have a preference but it could be that they don’t want to hold their head a different way, at my prenatal class they suggested holding the baby the same direction you would for the preferred boob and just move the bub around to your side and switch them to the next boob while they’re still in the same orientation if that makes sense? It may not work but it’s worth a try

My daughter always had a preference to the left breast and I had to pump the right and bottle it for her.

Mine doesn’t seem to have a personal preference but I know it’s a thing. 
I would offer that boob first at feedings.
