I really don’t want to end up with lots of stretch marks does bio oil actually work?

Try not to scratch when you start really stretching as it weakens your epidermis.

Best way is to gain slow steady weight and do not gain more than recommend amount. The stretch marks occur very deep in the skin so moisturizers/oils don’t help. (That being said, I’m 33 weeks and moisturizing daily just in case all the doctors are wrong). But don’t waste your money on expensive products or ruin your clothes with oils.

It depends on your skin type. Stretch marks occur when your skin tears from overstrwtching, keeping it moisturized is the best way to help prevent/minimize the damage. Moisturized skin will stretch further without tearing. Some skin reacts better to lotion, heavy cream, oil, etc. There's nothing that is going to magically keep them from appearing and what works best for one woman may not work well for another if they don't have the same skin type. Staying moisturized before, during, and after pregnancy will help your skin during the process and with recovery. I apply my regular lotion twice a day. I use either Aveeno unscented or ponds cream. This is my routine when I'm not pregnant as well and I think being well moisturized prior to the stress applied on the skin has helped alot. Good luck to you!
