Kittens and pregnancy??

I’m 17 weeks and we have two kittens. I just recently found out I’m not supposed to be near the litter box ?? Is it fine if I’m in the same bedroom as it though??

I have 3 cats and they are indoor with 2 litter trays. As long as your not handling the litter yourself with bare hands it's fine. If you do need to change the litter ensure you use gloves and wash thoroughly afterwards as it can cause toximaplosis

As long as you aren't licking their litter box you'll be fine lol wash your hands after (hopefully you do that anyways lol). You can wear a mask to keep from breathing in the dust and fine particles if you're really worried.

What everyone else said and on top of it where are you need to worry more about the toxoplasmosis is if your cats are outdoors at all. That’s how they can contract it

We have 3 cats and my husband or son do litter boxes. I think it is less likely to get toxoplasmosis if they are indoor cats, but the litter boxes make me gag anyway lol so I'd rather not do it!

Are they indoor cats? If so then its fine. Just be sure to change the litter once or twice a day and wash your hands or wear gloves after handling the scoop. I changed my cats litter my whole pregnancy with my first child.

If you’ve been around cats before you’ve likely already had toxoplasmosis and are immune. Scoop frequently so the bacteria doesn’t have time to build up and you’re fine. You’re more likely to get toxoplasmosis from a garden than your litter box
