"Mom Cut" Suggestions

Anna

I know a "mom cut" is usually used to refer to getting your hair chopped to a more baby friendly (less grabbed and/or lower maintenance) length, but I view it a bit differently. As much as it's what's on the inside that really matters, I think many people care about their outward appearance and have it affect their feelings of self worth. I've been slowly working to build up confidence in many ways, and thought it would be fun to try something new and push my boundaries a bit.

Following that line of thought, I thought it would be fun to treat myself to my mom cut--something new, just for me. I had been toying with the idea of a new cut and/or color since before I had my newest little guy, but hadn't worked up the courage to yet 😅I've never dyed my hair before. Keeping the length for the most part because my hair is a mix of mostly very wavy with some parts edging towards curly, and high maintenance if I want it to look decent short. I'm considering getting layers because I'm extremely headache and migraine prone, so lighter hair for when I need to tie it up may help. I'm nervous about picking a color that's pretty but doesn't actually suit me well, and generally picking a good place to have it done. So for anyone who read this far, what are your tips for a newbie to doing anything more than a basic trim? 😆 I'd love to hear any advice or suggestions on colors or cuts that would suit me so feel free to comment.

Some ideas I've been considering, with my picture first for reference for what you think would 'suit' me well:

1. Blonde/brown

2. Red

3. Blue-black
