Turn off the tv

Put down the phone

The papers no good to me

How many souls this week

The numbers still climbing

It all becomes numb to me

I scroll through the faces

It cuts life a knife

Move on to my news feed and on with my life

It won’t become real, so hard to see

Unless this news blurb, it happens to me

Why, and what and how they say

It’s a broken place we live in

The U S of A

How on earth can we fix it

There’s no solid way

But to love each other and live for today
