How do you feel about a after birth baby shower?

Thinking about waiting to have a baby shower for after but not sure if that is even a thing.

You're going to have to go ahead & buy your necessities in advance, & I don't think you're going to want to deal with organizing/washing gifts, writing thank yous, etc. when you have a new baby. So personally I'd do a "welcome party" or "sip n see" after birth, where it's not a gifting occasion. But yes, I think having an event after birth rather than before is totally fine!

I did this and called it a “sip and see” I did it a month after the baby was born so everyone could meet the baby without constantly having visitors show up at my house. For gifts we registered at amazon and said that anyone who wanted to buy gifts for them to be sent to our house before the baby was born. Not very traditional but worked really well for me 😜

I think it’s better to do it before so you can see what you get and then buy everything else you still need

My friend did that when she adopted so everyone could meet her little girl. If you’re having a complicated pregnancy or are high risk I could definitely see doing that. Hopefully close family would still help out with big ticket items before baby is born.

We plan on a meet and greet style after the baby is born this time. No idea what we are having this time. With baby due at Christmas, we will probably wait a month.
