Could this be Labor is near?

How long after a sweep does labor start? I had a sweep yesterday after that I noticed I had a discharge of mucus and blood. This happened all last night and this morning. Today i have been getting contractions but not to strong or close together. Could this be a sign that labor is near?

Cervix checks don’t put you into labor. They can kickstart labor if you’re already close, but the likelihood of it putting you into labor alone is slim. From your symptoms, it could be near or it could be weeks from now. Unfortunately, nothing can predict it. Bleeding from a cervical check is normal, so is cramping. If your bleeding doesn’t stop, or you start having consistent contractions, or you start leaking amniotic fluid, go in ASAP. Good luck.
