Alrighty! So I know that when one chooses to announce is totally up to them, but being high-risk and having it take a year to happen, I'm wanting to make sure we are in the "safe(r)" zone before actually announcing it to everyone. . .I feel silly that I can't figure this out, so hoping for opinions! Is the end of the first trimester once you begin your 13th week or at the end of the 13th week?? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

My partner lost a little girl to spinabifida she would have been 5 now, with his ex not with me. But even tho it’s not hereditary on the fathers side he wanted to wait until we got the all clear, which we did at nearly 17 weeks when we found out he was a little boy. So we announced that day! Here’s our announcement!

So I always considered the 13th week as the beginning of the 2nd trimester. I personally didn’t announce in social media until 20 weeks. I’m a super paranoid person

I waited to 14+3 but I’ve had friends lost babies at 17 weeks, etc. there’s never a safe time but yes odds are in your favor after 13 weeks. I wouldn’t overthink it and just enjoy it! Your baby deserves to be celebrated ❤️

It's once you begin the 13th week (so after you've completed the full 12 weeks). But if you want to be extra sure then it's better to give it a couple more weeks. I never announced any of my pregnancies on social media, but I did always update my profile pic to one that shows my bump after the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. That's when it felt safest to me.
